HBW Fitness Friday Instructor Spotlight

This Friday we shine the spotlight on the leader, entrepreneur and fitness instructor extraordinaire Bri Spotts. Bri can be found teaching BODYPUMP, BODYATTACK, BODYSTEP, CYCLE, BOOTCAMP, INSANITY – Just about everything!

 

 

Becoming an Instructor

 

  1. What brought you to Richmond? My Dad’s job relocated us here when I was in 11th grade.

  2. When did you join your gym and why?  I’ve been teaching at various gyms around the city for the past 8 years, but most recently just took on the Group Exercise Director position at Gold’s Gym Arboretum.

  3. Why do you exercise ? To feel good in my body, to stay healthy, and most importantly…for FUN!

  4. What is your favorite format that you teach?  I love BODYATTACK – The high intensity, push you to the limit feel gets me every time!

 

Getting to know Bri

  1. What are the top three qualities that draw you to someone?  Sense of Humor, Positive Attitude and must be an animal lover!

  2. Type of music you like most?  I love it all! 

  3. What’s your favorite “healthy” food, store or restaurant to go to?  Fresh Market has the best produce – I am obsessed with Honey Crisp apples and will pay any amount of money per pound to eat them.   

  4.  What do you like to do on weekends? Relax J  The week is usually so crazy, that I just like to unwind and spend time with my husband and our dogs and our friends and family.  Oh, and I eat a doughnut (preferably Sugar Shack) every single Sunday – so I really look forward to that ;) 

  5. What/Who ​Inspires You?  I love the members I teach to and the other instructors I have met throughout the years.  I love having a wide fitness friendship that is always teaching me something new every day!

  6. In the morning you can’t live without…COFFEE!

  7. Favorite place to go in Richmond?   Walking by the river, or strolling through Cary Town.

  8. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy? No doubt about it - I would hire a personal chef.

  9. What is your go-to favorite exercise?  I love a good burpee – it really is an awesome full body move! 

  10. What is your favorite brand or favorite workout gear?  I have a little bit of everything – from Nike, Lululemon, Athleta, Old Navy, Target, Onzie – I love it all (too much, my husband would say!)

Bethany's comments: I met Bri when I started teaching at Gold's Gym a few years ago as she was in the role of Group Exercise Manager for a billion clubs in Richmond. I immediately admired her ability to not only manage groups of crazy instructors but to also step in at any point to sub teach classes even if it wasn't a format she had taught in years! I am lucky to have her as a friend and she continues to inspire me as she's still teaching and staying fit WHILE SEVEN AND A HALF MONTHS PREGNANT :)

 

Congratulations to her and Alex on thier first baby boy coming in May!!!
